Classmate PC, the 200 dollars laptop
Intel Corporation announced that the Classmate PC`s started to be delivered in the emerged markets. These PC`s, offered at accessible prices are based on the Intel Creon M processor. These are the first laptops oriented to the eductional systems in Basil and Mexico.

Intel plans to start this year pilot-programs in over 25 countries like China, Chile, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Thailand. Intel want to deliver these laptops in several languages: english, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
With students using the Classmate PC in class, a teacher can make presentations, guide student’s access to the Internet, deliver specific controlled content and interact individually with students and parents in giving tests or providing feedback.
Intel’s award-winning stools technology for online digital learning offers a scalable, multimedia, multi-device learning solution to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics and science. Easily adaptable to local needs, it is being used in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and a number of Spanish-speaking countries.
As part of the Intel World Ahead Program, Intel will train an additional 10 million teachers over the next 5 years in developing communities on the effective use of technology in the classroom. Partnering with public and private organizations, Intel is driving WiMAX broadband deployments that will reach cities as well as suburban and rural communities that previously were either impossible or too costly for carriers to pursue. For people living in underdeveloped communities, the Internet is either a complete mystery or a resource beyond their reach. The program will also provide 100,000 free PCs to classrooms in those communities to improve learning skills. Intel is working with developing country governments to ensure that these PCs are utilized within a holistic, sustainable framework-focused on providing appropriate technology, teacher training, relevant content, and connectivity.
Intel Classmate PC is part of the “Intel World Ahead” Program, a program where technology, school programs and teachers ability are blend to improve the educational level in the poor countries. Intel will co-operate with these countries to develop plans that include local industries collaboration, free Internet access in schools, training for teachers and the Intel Teach program than help teachers to use the technology efficient in the teaching process and the creation of local teaching content.
